Venice

The city of love, no?

I recently went to Venice on holiday and i must say, I loved every second of it.

The first thing that you have to get used too is that there are no cars, and all roads are pedestrianised. If you don't want to walk from one place to the next, you can get on whats called a 'vaperetto' which is the venesian equilivent of a taxi.

While i was there i engaged in all the most touristy activities, such as Gondola rides:

The only problem you might have with the above is that Gondola rides are such a tourists attraction that the prices are often laughably high, I think mine cost about £50, however it is a once in a life time kind of thing. This is by no means a form of viable transport!
Another thing that many of the tourists do, is climb the tower in the central square of the Venice :

Although it is quite a trek to the top, the view is jaw dropping, and well worth the climb. I found that this was one of the single best views of my life, as this tower was by far the tallest thing in all of Venice, giving a 360 view of the stunning city.

It is also impossible to miss out the Rialto Bridge, which is famed for its architecture:

This bridge has been famed for the fact that it has hops on either side, almost like a mini market. It it actually at times when inside the shops, to notice that you are in fact on a bridge.

WORD OF WARNING:  Venice is rife with fake merchandise, if you see people selling handbags on the street claiming them to be designer, simply say no as they can be confiscated at the airport and you might face a fine.

Venice is one of the greats, as city's go. If you ever get the chance i urge you to take a trip over there and enjoy what it has to offer.
Some of the more centralised cafe's will be considerably more expensive so be aware of that.
